Trying to think of the restrictions to place on this question was actually quite a bit more difficult than you’d think. It started off with unlimited money and unlimited time. Then I decided, “well, you DO have to come back to real life at some point.” But that could just be a week before you die. So then I started to think of time frames. What’s a long enough vacation to completely alter your LIFE, but then force you to come back to this life? I’m going to say 3 months. Yes. 25% of the year on vacation sounds lovely to me.

If you had 3 months away from work and unlimited money (lol), what would you do and where would you go?

This is extremely open ended, and I’m not convinced that “unlimited” was the right dollar amount to assign to this challenge because people could say some pretty crazy stuff. Basically, I don’t want this commanded practice of daydreaming to be limited by money, but I also want it to be realistic.

Paying a guide to take you to the top of Everest? Sure. That’s not cheap, but it is realistic. Stopping in as many countries as possible in 3 months via planes, tranes, and automobiles (or maybe even a donkey)? Absolutely. But stuff like flying a harrier jet to drop you off at all of the 8,000 meter peaks in the world and then sailing a fleet of yachts filled with unimagineable luxury items around the Cape of Good Hope is pretty unrealistic. Just. I mean. C’mon. You know what I’m looking for.

So, how do you answer this question? What’s your dream adventure? How do you readjust to real life when you come back? Could you, or would you be forever changed?

P.S. This was supposed to be a really fun daydream for a Friday and now it’s kind of deep and philosophical….depending on how far you want to take it. Haha!

Don’t Miss Your Chance

I was stuck in Corporate America for 9 years. I was miserable.

Then I took control.

You can too, and it starts right here.
