This is a brief overview of why I created this site. It is the first of a a multi-part topic. If I wrote everything all in one, you would all get bored after the first page. So, I’ll try break them up and keep them relatively entertaining with foul language, political incorectness, and witty smart-assness.

So, AthleteCreator, huh? Sounds like someone thinks pretty highly of themselves, especially since he was a D3 college football wannabe.

Believe it or not. I agree. To be honest, I came up with AthleteCreator because, well, I’m not what some people call “creative”. The only names I could come up with were obvious choices that more qualified, more experienced trainers and businesses had already taken. Also, I came up with the name of my future business before I decided to start this website.

So what’s with the whole AthleteCreator thing anyway? I thought you just wanted to be a personal trainer.

This is true to an extent. The end goal (in my dream world) is that I will become a trainer for athletes only. I don’t want people that “just want to tone up” or are going through a mid-life crisis and are trying to attract a hot piece of ass that’s 20 years younger than them. Though, they would probably have a good shot at getting the Rosie O’Donnell look-a-like contest winner in the sack. Whoops….got off track, I just love thinking about Rosie O’Donnell…wait, what?

Anyways, I want to train athletes because athletes are already driven. They have time dependant, measureable goals. They can’t just say, “oh, I look good enough, I’m going to quit now.” Hell no! They’re going to say, “Fuck, I only ran the 40 in 4.6s. I should be at least in the 4.5’s.” They won’t be happy with bench pressing their bodyweight. If any self-respecting athlete could only squat 1.5 times their bodyweight, they probably wouldn’t leave the gym. That’s the kind of drive I want. That’s the kind of passion I want in my gym. If you ain’t got it or if you don’t feel like working, get the hell out and join your local Gold’s.

All that being said, I still need to start somewhere (like my local Gold’s). I am not financially nor educationally experienced enough to just drop my dayjob and say, “yup, I’m gonna open a gym today.” Who in their right mind would show up? I can just see it now:

Hey, a new gym just opened. This guy used to be on a D3 football team, was a full-time electrical engineer for 3 years, and now he wants to train me. I’m fuckin’ in!

I don’t think it’s going to work that way. So, I’m going to build up my experience, hopefully make some contacts, and after a couple of years, if I think there is a viable chance of my gym coming to fruition, I will make the leap. I just don’t see that happening in the next 3 years.

So there it is. The broad overview of what I’m trying to do here. As I mentioned in the beginning, there will be follow-ups to this that go into greater details on some of the things I’ve mentioned here. Some will be short, some will be long, but hopefully they will all be entertaining!

Don’t Miss Your Chance

I was stuck in Corporate America for 9 years. I was miserable.

Then I took control.

You can too, and it starts right here.
