Alright ladies and gentlemen, I’m going to do something this week I never thought I’d be willing to do. I’m turning vegetarian…kind of…makes me sick just thinking about it. I’m going on vacation in a week and I have been struggling to lose the last little bit of stomach fat I have. So, I’ve decided to go Jean Claude Van Damme in Kickboxer style to avenge my brother’s paralysis, erm, I mean, to lose this last little bit before vacation. I have no idea if it’s going to work, but I think the theory behind it is there. Let me take you through my thought process…

Originally, I had thought about fasting, well, my definition of fasting. I was only going to eat small portions of veggies 2 or 3 times a day, probably 2 protein shakes with water, and of course, water. Then I got to thinking that even in just a week, I would lose a considerable amount of muscle. Not only that, but I may actually go insane from all the hunger pains. My body is used to 2500 to 3000 calories per day. Cutting it down to 1000 or less would be completely sadistic, and I am not into S&M (that I know of).

So then I thought, “alright, I’ll do that but I’ll actually eat normal sized meals and add one serving of carbs for breakfast and some plain sweet potatoes during the day to fill me up.” After considering that, I again found two major flaws. One, I’m still going to be hungry as shit, veggies just don’t have calories. Two, the point of this thing is to cut out non-essential fats and carbs. Crap! Now what?

So here’s what I’ve come up with: One serving of dairy per day in the morning for breakfast in the form of organic, non-fat, plain Greek yogurt; one serving of fruit per day for breakfast in the form of blueberries with my Greek yogurt (plain yogurt is quite sour and rather disgusting by itself); one serving of grains per day in the form of whole grain rolled oats in my protein shake for breakfast; and the rest of the day will be vegetarian meals. No eggs, no turkey, no chicken, no venison, no pasta, no rice, no breads. No orange juice, no milk, no tea. The only protein I will be getting will be from the little bits in the veggies, mixed nuts, the yogurt, and protein shakes. The only fats I will get will come from the oils I wrote about previously Experimenting with EFA’s, cooking oils, and fats found naturally in foods like avacados and mixed nuts.

Will this work? Who knows. Am I a complete idiot? Most people in the world will say yes (for reasons other than, and including, this diet). I will let the pictures decide.

Don’t Miss Your Chance

I was stuck in Corporate America for 9 years. I was miserable.

Then I took control.

You can too, and it starts right here.
