Alright, I’m posting this at the same time as my Bro-Date with Mike Nelson post because I wanted to include it in there, but after seeing how long it got, I decided to break it up.

As I said in one of the final paragraphs, Mike inspired me to reprioritize my life. As I sit here and type this, I have basically been trying to juggle studying for my certification, a fat cutting workout/diet plan, this website (filming vids, networking, and trying to get it set up to where I can make money from it someday), family obligations, and live a life. None of them really have a priority right now. I’m trying to do them all at the same time, and I’m only doing slightly better than average in each of them. Honestly, I am failing miserably in the studying department and “excelling” in the networking department. Kinda screwed up actually if you look at the long term goals. So, here’s the path forward:

  1. Finish this fat-loss program after next week. (Oh yes, there will be results posted!)
  2. Train for and COMPETE in a powerlifting competition in Sept. (first time ever) in the 181lb. weight class, open division, and RAW (just the way I like it, with no equipment….I know what you’re all thinking, and I like it.)
  3. After the competition, training, the website, and all other distractions will become secondary to me studying.
  4. Get certified.
  5. Reprioritize again!

At the end of the day, the first step in achieving my long term goal is getting certified. The longer I put it off, the longer it will be for me to take the next step. That being said, I will no longer be dishing out free nutrition and exercise programs. I’ll still give it out to the general public here on my site, but if you want a personalized program put together, it will cost some dough. Why you ask? Well, I like to think I do a pretty good job. It usually takes about 3-4 hours to put everything together. That’s 3-4 hours of MY TIME. Not only that, but if you decide that the program is “too hard” or you just decide to ignore it, you don’t lose anything. It will still be fairly cheap, but at least now I won’t be upset if you tell me later that you quit after week 1.

Back to the whole priority thing, I had previously made up my mind that I wanted to compete this year, and the only sanctioned event just so happens to be in 2 months (Sept. 19). So, I guess the previously mentioned first step will have to be put off until then. But after that, it’s all business!

While all of that is going down, I am going to be a little more pro-active in trying to sell my places down in TX. Not only are they a financial strain, but the financial strain takes its toll on me quite a bit to say the least. Once I get those sold and get my finances in order, I will be able to buy a place up here and set up my garage gym.

I, at least initially, am convinced in the benefits of Z-health from an athletic standpoint. If all the planets align, and everything falls into place in an ideal situation, I could see myself pursuing some Z-health certifications. Mike proved, whether he meant it or not, how LITTLE I actually know….and I still know quite a bit.

And last but not least, I am going to also try focusing more on work….while at work. *GASP* I’ve decided that if I get fired there, none of this is going to be possible. It’ll be difficult, but I have to give it a shot. Unemployment sounds much worse than EMI Qualification Testing.

Wow, that got out of hand quickly too. Anyways, I know not everyone is trying to open a gym, start their own company, or even make a major career change, but I don’t know too many people that aren’t at least as equally as busy as me. What do you guys have going on in your lives, and what steps are you taking to achieve your goals? Let me know!

Don’t Miss Your Chance

I was stuck in Corporate America for 9 years. I was miserable.

Then I took control.

You can too, and it starts right here.
