This is a question for all of you out there.
Prior to our last “dudeswithtents” trip, I was debating on the alcoholic beverage of choice. Beer, although very tasty, is too heavy to ski into the woods 5 miles and then carry the cans/bottles back out.
So the alcoholic beverage that I am referring to is booze! I did some google searching and was not able to find any reasonable suggestions or thoughts. Therefore, I post the question here.
What do you drink?
So do you remember that trip we all took up to Milaca with Witt? I do. Do you all remember what was said in the liquor store on the way up? I do.
Dave please share the story with the world.
I find that there is nothing better then a nice box of red wine to take camping. you don’t have to worry about it breaking, the box breaks down when you are done with it for easy disposal, you don’t have to keep it cold, there is no mixing, no peeing issues like with beer (when your a girl this is a big bonus), it gets you messed up, and there is nothing better then a good wine drunk around a campfire.
Renee,
All valid points and something to consider. However, the key here is “backcountry”. It might be easy enough to pull a box of wine in a sled in the winter, but I know I wouldn’t wanna carry that beast on my back or in my arms while hiking in the summer. Maybe we could make a pull-behind wagon!!
You can also take the wine out of the box and jsut keep it in the bag. it molds nicely into what ever you want to carry it in ie.. your pack. Did I mention box wine definitely adds a touch of class to any endevor.
GOON!!(box wine) failing that would have to say just take drugs way lighter and smaller
